Mailed my CCL paperwork in a couple of weeks ago and still waiting for it to come in.

but the thinner the gun, the better. This why I usually don't suggest people carry Glocks, because they are wide as frick.
Amen! My "first" cc gun was a Springfield XD in 40 S&W. After carrying it a few times I realized it was MUCH to thick for me. I now carry IWB w/ a Kel-Tec PF9, Kahr CW45, or 1911 Commander or Officer model. I've read about creating a "hybrid" between the CW9 and CM9 by bobbing the grip of the CW9 1/2" and using CM9 mags. I think about that every now and then, but have been able to fight off the urge.....so far......

The general rule of thumb is that the more comfortable the gun is, the more you will carry it. A gun left at home is worthless.
So true.

Commander length 1911 in 45acp. Both iwb and owb.
Getting a 9mm M&P Shield when prices return to sanity.
Always carry in No and BR. Otherwise depends on situation. Always weapon in vehicle if not carrying.

Wow, I took my course certificate down to the Sheriff's office, paid my money, they scanned my thumb, took my picture and I received my CCL in 3 business days.

In LA the money must be paid in money order, cashiers check, or certified check.
Must have colored passport pics with a signature on back from the person who fingerprints you at the sheriff's office.
Sheriff's office uses ink for fingerprints and they often are refused by the CCL worker due to "smudges" so they'll send 'em back and make you get fingerprinted all over again.
3 of your documents must be signed by a notary.
Among other annoying, tedious steps.

Car (Glock 22) and briefcase (HK USP), so one is always close. If the situation dictates I'll carry on person, IWB. Rarely am I in a situation where I feel I need to be armed and am not close to one or the other.

Maybe that's what LA had to do get reciprocity in some of those other states, or they just want it to be a hassle for people.

For those of you in BR, go to the state police headquarters to have them done electronically. that way, the fingerprints won't get kicked back.

Check out the minotaur mtac or crossbreed supertuck; I have heard good things about both, went with the latter myself.
Do you guys who carry IWB buy pants a size larger? I tried on my regular khaki shorts with the holster and it felt a little too snug.

Wait....... And get all your equipment lined up, especially you're going to use a custom holster.
BTW, I used digital prints, yet from the time the application was received in BR, it took 12 weeks to receive my CCL.
