If you're considering it for possible defensive use its a no brainier. In low light with no earplugs it would be like intentionally setting off a flashbang in your face.

Like XD said though, it is cool for a fun gun. Itll rattle the walls at indoor ranges.

Looks cool but not necessary on .357. .50 cal or .454 Casull, hell yes.

Actually it's for moose. My oldest boy is headed up to Alaska in a couple weeks to spend time with Mama and siblings (while I'm down here working ). They all like to take walks, so I want my son armed for damn moose (friggin brown bear are about to wake-up also).

I was thinking about the ported barrel to get a follow-up shot if needed. But it's sounding like there's not enough muzzle-flip with a 6" barrel to warrant a ported barrel LINK.

I have a .357 ported 7 in. It use to be really loud. Now nothing seems loud.

I just got a S&W 686 with 6 inch barrel. I was surprised how little recoil there is... all has to do with the weight of that thing. It's even heavier with the scope on it. Some deer will meet their maker at the hands of this thing in the fall...

That's what I was hoping to hear and seems to be the case. Seems there isn't much to gain from a ported 6" barrel except decibels.

My 4-inch .357 as a bit of a muzzle rise, but it seems the two extra inches in length makes a difference

I'm gonna go ahead and get the unported 6" barrel and load it with 200 grain hard cast lead rounds. That should punch through a moose skull at 5 yards.

That thing is beautiful! The wood grips really stand out!

Thx bap. I think the grips definitely look better than the Hogue grips that came on it.

That taurus has very little recoil. I have the raging bull in .44mag with a 6 1/2" barrel and it's relatively easy to control.
