I've read that a few people have purchased them for around $2000, but most are paying much more. Colt is only making 80 units a month available to consumers...the shop owners who know what they have are asking exorbitant prices.

Without a seconds thought.

Me too! Then I'd sell it and buy another AR or AK, and keep the original $2000!

Hey buddy...find that Ruger Commander first!

IIRC, there are some Colt 1911s that are modeled after the ones sold to the USMC, and then now they are offering the exact same weapon, only they have very few hitting the shelves per month, like someone else mentioned.

Just read this whole post and, unless I missed it, NO ONE proposed the Delta Elite 10mm to this perspective 1911 owner????
Turn in your DE Card at the nearest Gun Shop... This goes for both you current AND perspective buyers!
ETA: I understand the 10mm is a beast to handle, especially for 1911 noobz but when it comes to 1911's, I say go big or go home!

I'm actually surprised at how many of you love the Marine 1911...I figured most of you would be purists. I mean, I think it looks amazing but I'm not a 1911 guy per se.

What's not pure about it besides the rail?

Don't try to change the subject!
But I want one too!

Rail, grips, color...It looks nothing like your grandpappy's 1911.

Color doesn't bother me. Stuff evolves. I think it looks amazing.

I have one 1911 bro! I've always said it's the nicest looking handgun ever made...easily.
