Climber upgrade

Inb4 that looks heavy, switch to a saddle, boomer type comments.
This idea probably ain't new to you but was an idea I had and finally got my hands on a rucksack frame, shoulder straps, and waistbelt. Feels pretty good and balanced on my back. I was worried the bottom platform would hang up when it's pulled up out from the upper platform but I mounted it where it clears that bar just fine. Also replaced the seat. I'll cut the zip ties when I'm 100% satisfied with the setup.

I had the same setup on my summit before I came out of the closet and started saddle hunting.

Yea not sure why people still limit themselves to only hunting straight trees with no limbs.
A lock-on or saddle with climbing sticks gives you so many more options

Yup. Id still prefer a good climber like the summit viper or lone wolf hand climber to a crappy lock on/saddle setup. Once i actually spent some money and got a good saddle/sticks/pack I got rid of most of my climbers, though. Those summits are hell when you're walking through tickets.

I won’t judge ya, I still tote my summit viper around. Zero reason for me to jump on the saddle bandwagon where and how I hunt on public lands locally.
If I were going to make Midwest hunts where I’m strictly bow hunting yeah I may try something different but for now my summit viper suits me just fine.

I haven’t used a climber since I left North Carolina a long time ago. Not many trees to put a climber on in South Texas or hill county.
If you want to be a badass and hunt a saddle good luck

I was looking at a ground blind in Academy the other day and heard a deer blow at me. They dont work well here, even when you brush them in.

How do you get around the limbs? 2x lineman ropes??
