Thinking abut going for a hike here but have never been. What's this place like? Any advice?

Trail in woods, terrain different than most of La. and a few waterfalls.

Check out AllTrails, website and app. Has lots of user submitted pictures of some of the scenery, gives elevation change, and distance of trails all over the country.
Very few places like Clark Creek around here, it’s a few bucks a person, paid on the honor system so bring cash. Bring water especially this time of year, and wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet/muddy, and that have good grip for rocks in the creek. A change of clothes isn’t a bad idea.
No special gear is needed, but you’ll definitely see some people with hiking sticks looking like they are ready to climb Mt. Everest and others with flip flops or crocs smoking a cigarette.

Well said.
Hardest part do the hike is honestly the end when you’re getting back to the car.
Would recommend doing the trail clockwise so that you end up coming through the creek and up the stairs around finish. Not sure how much water is back there right now but normally it’s not much.

Went yesterday. 2nd time I’ve been and like poster above said, hardest part is at the end when walking up. There’s not a ton of water, but your feet will get wet if you hike the creeks and head to waterfalls. Try to go as early as possible and bring bug spray as gnats are terrible. If you are moving, they aren’t bad.
