Carry question

I put in for my CCW, but I have been wondering, and its probably a fumb question, where is carrying forbidden? I know LA is open carry, does that mean I can pretty much carry openly anywhere. as long as its not expressly prohibited like state and federal buildings and schools? Just wondering, it's not very clear to me
