Can someone give me the rundown on the Carolina Skiffs? I'm looking for a shallow CC boat to get up in the marshes with. Never ran a Carolina skiff, but I just cant get over the flat front. What the OB think? Good boat or not so much. I'm looking at used boats BTW

Are you talking about the original with the slick flat bottom and only small rail on each side or the new DLX that has a tri-V similar to a boston whaler montauk? I had a J14 with the slick bottom damn thing could plane off with a 5hp. On the plus side they run skinny and can plane with little hp and carry decent loads. On the down side they will beat you to death in any chop and if you turn too sharp you can break free from the small rails on the side and start sliding only way to fix is come off the power. Hard to beat them for a strictly inshore boat.

I wonder the same thing about Carolina Skiff and their flat hull.
