Two things: good luck on getting anyone to be able to open the safe. no kidding, when I worked at academy in college nobody in the whole store was able to open on after it had been on the floor for more than two weeks. I dont know what happened to them.

I've got the Sentry one from Academy. I love it for protection. Very heavy, but I wish it had fire protection.

this is one of the problems with major retail stores. with a safe the interior layout is its biggest selling point. They all are just big boxes from the outside

Not sure mine is the same size as the one they are selling right now, but my dimensions are 20" D * 30" W * 59" H

And to show you the outlet on the inside. Mine has a detachable plug/wire that attaches to the back of the safe similar to a desktop PC.

I bought that cannon scout day after thanksgiving for 379. I've been pleased with it so far... Seems like a good bang for the buck. Ideally I want a bigger safe, but for now I don't have any place in my house for one bigger. In 5 years or so when I move I'll probably look to upgrade my safe.

Yeah, I'll find the link for you tomorrow when I'm on a computer. They can be found several places online. I just went with the cheapest I could find that wasn't the over the door holster type. It was a xmas present from the wife too. Still waiting on the dri rod to come in.

Ideally, I want to put a lighting system in but can't find what I really want. I want a switch that is automatic like the refrigerator door and I'll probably run some LED rope lights throughout or mount some flourescent lights. The light kits I see online are like $130+ let me know if you have other good ideas.

Also, anyone have good ideas for short guns that don't reach the first rack? I've got 2 .22s and 2 youth shotguns that are too short

This is them. You may be able to find them a little cheaper. We may have gotten them on Amazon?

I went look at them last night after work. The cannon was definitely a good buy at $379 but since I need two to house my collection I am rethinking the whole deal. I am now leaning towards buying one large higher end safe. The liberty fatboy jr holds 48 and seems to retail online for around $1500. Academy also has a really nice browning for $1199 (but I need to give it a second look since I don't remember the capacity) and the cannon like Xenon has which I also liked. I have 22 long guns plus 7 pistols so the 24 gun would be full with very little room for expansion.

Just saw that Lowe's sells the Liberty Fatboy Jr. 48 gun safe for $1069 on their website. Going to have to make a trip to lowes and see what they can order

First off, thanks Xenon for the bump on this board. Glad you were happy with the safe and the service. We do try to offer the best pricing, and when we get great deals from our manufacturers, we pass it on. We only have few of the "Oops" safes left. If anyone would like to get on the list, give us a call at the shop. But we also are a full line stocking dealer for Cannon safes, and offer all models at very competitive pricing. 601-798-9449 and ask for Kasey in Internet Sales. We would be happy to help you!We are trying to get a few booths at the LA sportsman show in march at the Lamar dixon Expo center and have a whole slew of safes for sale and display.
