I know you need to water them a lot, but can you over water them? Is a soaking 2 times/day too much?
I have two baby trees that I just took out of the pot and put in the ground this past weekend. They are about 2 ft tall. I don't want to kill them by watering too much

Idk bout too much, but it probably isn't completely necessary. I've always done them once a day when it was dry and they've done fine. I doubt you'll drown them though.

Once established shouldn't need to water that much. But you don't want them to dry out and go into shock while establishing. If the soil is moist they are wet enough.

I planted one a few months ago. I water it every other day. It is doing good. Has about 15 satsumas on it

Too much water on anything will open the door to fungus. Better water less frequent and soak good than frequent short watering.

Get you a 5 gallon bucket and drill a 1/4" hole on the side at the bottom. Put bucket next to tree and fill it up with water. Leave the bucket there till empy. Do this once a week and you are good.

This. I had a satsuma in an area that didn't drain well and it thrived for about 6 months, then began to lose leaves. I dug it up and moved it into a pot to dry out a bit. The wood was green but it had lost every leaf. When a few leaf buds began to reappear a couple of months later, I replanted it in a spot that drains better and it's just now starting to thrive again.
