Repairing a few minor holes (1/4” or less) in the bottom of a 55 gallon drum.
Can I use liquid nail or do I need to use something like JB weld? I’m afraid that insects will eat through the liquid nail.

This will be used as a deer feeder and willl not have any pressure applied to it as it is near the edge of the drum and a funnel will be used.

TIA

Why would an insect want to eat through the liquid nail? If they want to get to the corn, they can enter through the hole where the corn exits the drum. I never used liquid nail, but I have used a piece of beer can and some 5 minute epoxy. But I was trying to keep water out, not insects.

Could or just plain old silicone sealant or any two-part epoxy or bondo. I'd probably use bondo.

I’m using liquid nail because that’s what I have on hand and I’d rather drop $80 on something else other than a drum. I got this one for free.

Good point on them coming up through the funnel hole.

No insects will not eat through it. But if it is the "good" liquid nails that has a strong smell I wouldn't use it in a feeder. The whole batch of corn will smell like LN for several months. That stuff is pungent.
