What calibers will work for this?
I have a .308 and .243 but not sure if those have enough juice for the explosion.

And dont blow up a lawnmower.
Or if you really want to. Remove the blades first.

Both of those will work. Just make sure they are not subsonic.

The boom boom relies more on speed than the caliber. IIRC, basically anything traveling faster than 2,000 fps will get the reaction going. So, while a .223 would be plenty to make that can pop at 100 yards, it probably would be less reliable at say 350 yards. A shorter or longer barrel also effects the velocity of a given cartridge.

PROTIP:
pack the canister with sand as tight as you can after you mix the two parts...then pack it again, then screw on the lid
then stand back

I have a few of the bigger cans of this, never been mixed. I put em in the shop in a cabinet and forgot about em. I was wondering, does this go bad? Is it dangerous to mix it after a few years? Im not an expert, maybe someone here can answer.

I'm not an expert but it has to be shot with velocity to blow up, so I don't see how mixing them while old would all of the sudden change that. If anything I'd think it would be harder to blow up after years than easier, but that's just an uneducated guess. I'd guess they have some type of expiration date on there for liability reasons.
