I dont understand the glock firing mechanism well enough to say if id be scared of it or not. I dont know if the firing pin is in a rested or loaded position when it's in carry condition.

If the firing pin is not in the ready to fire position, than i wouldnt be much nore scared of it that a revolver.

The trigger pull does not load the pin. It's basically single action in that respect.

I carried a Blackhawk for years as a backup gun while hunting and never thought twice about possibly shooting myself regardless of what I was doing in the woods.

Recently though, when I decided to get a semi-auto, my only experience previously was a 1911 so I only looked at guns with an external safety. I ended up getting the p30S model since the safety is very similar to the 1911, it was second nature.

I'm sure at some point I would feel comfortable carrying something without a manual safety but it isn't right now.

I see your point, and admit somewhat defeat, sir.
I still think the safety factor is on par.

Glocks are in "half cocked" position. Its short DA pull that drops the firing pin safety, fully cocks the striker, and releases it. Every trigger pull is the same weight.

At least that's the way I understand it.

Id be nervous carrying that. I know there are safties within the gun, but i trust the pin not being in battery with no safeties more than pin in battery with safeties. I dont trust safeties regardless of how tested and proven they are.

Well I would not conceal carry one for sure, but I'm not a fan of conceal carry For Myself anyway. I just mean on your hip.

I would have to carry it hammer down. A cocked and locked gun makes me nervous if i dont have my hands on it.

The racking of the slide is what works on TV anyway.

My favorite movie gun move, is when somebody has someone held up with a revolver for 5 minutes talking back and forth then suddenly decides to cock the gun...seriously? You held this dude up at gunpoint for that long with the hammer down?

Same with pumping a shotgun.

You have to rack it about 5 times very loudly fpr it to work.

yeah, none of these M&P types, heading into a dangerous condition, have a shell in the chamber.

Do you also notice all guns are unusually clanky and loud, just from handling in them? Like just pulling a gun out makes a lot of metallic clanking noises. Even if it's a polymer pistol.

And the first thing you do when you pick up a shotgun is rack it. 100% of the time. Even if somebody was just shooting at you with it.

870s. They are clanky.

And why must every one throw their pistol 20' when they run out of bullets? Just drop it.

I also think guns are all coated with teflon. If you drop it on the floor it slides across the room, regardless of floor surface

Yeah I'd get fired as an actor pretty quick.

I'd refuse to cock the gun, and argue with the director, and tell everyone that they're wasting unspent ammo.
