I am sure it is against the rules, I also think it is crazy to set up a sting in a public place.
Surely this guy had a problem with taking illegal game and selling them. There were many violations that could be written or proven or they wouldnt engage in a sting.
At the end of the day we performed a sting involving atleast two agencies where the penalty was 1000 dollars and 5 years probation, seems pretty benign.
You and a buddy go and shoot over the limit of ducks and you can get in almost as bad of trouble.
Hell, this fine included evading the police and public endangerment. If he just takes his ticket he probably has half the fine and no probation. I just think it is overkill.

The "rules" were established with the understanding that game is not to be sold. If it were legal to sell game then you can bet that bag limits would be much different.

If it were legal to sell game, I know some deer hunters that would actually have some meat in their freezers lol

He ran from the law. Bad move.

Again, I never said he was doing something legal. I just do not think it should be illegal to do what you want with game you harvest that was taken by otherwise legal methods and are within the State bag limits.

knowing he could not sell the meat.
In mybopinion, youre not selling the meat, if you are inky charging the cost of processing it into the sausage.
Someone can give me the meat, but ask to be reimbursed for the processing.
That being said, i think this guy was doing it for profit of some sort
