Looking to spend under 600 on a bolt action 6.5 Creedmoor. I’ve seen Ruger Mossberg Remington Savage etc...
The Winchester looks promising as well.
Anyone own any of these? Planning on putting some good glass on whichever rifle I go with. TIA

I believe this is the American Predator, not the regular american.

LINK

I've been fighting the urge to get one and now it's on sale. There are a lot of review videos on it and it is pretty accurate. sub moa

Good friend of mine just ordered a Ruger 16973 from the sportsman super store. Little over $400, check it out for the price it’s a smooth gun.

Ruger American Predator and Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40
Should be able to get both for $600 or so.

I had a giftcard last year for $300 to academy. Picked up the TC compass 6.5 for like $250 at the time, it has threaded barrel also, put a $200 burris droptine 4-12×42 on it... And my word... it shoots like a $1000 rifle. I prob have 20-25 rifles in my safe, and i bet this is the most accurate of any of them. Can touch holes at 100yards. Killed 2 nice bucks last year with it, taken it to missouri and kentucky. Cant brag enough about the cheap lil gun

I've seen all of those shoot sub MOA, and the T.C. Compass that someone else mentioned. Just pick the one you like, put a Vortex on it and start punching holes.

I’ve been trying to get rid of my budget 6.5 Ruger American predator with Nikon scope. I would be willing to sell it cheap if you’re interested.

Hey oleyeller, are you shooting reloads from the 6.5? My friend has one and it shoots decent but I wouldn't compare it to any $1k guns. Going to start working on reloads for him to see what I can get the gun to do. Thanks

Note, I'm not bashing there Compass. It is perfect for this thread. Budget hunting rifle, definitely

Pretty sure bass pro has Savage 6.5’s as part of their Black Friday deal. $199...Savage are good rifles.

While im not comparing it to the quality of a 1k gun.. it shoots like one. I shoy barnes 127gr last year and moved to hornady eldx 143 grain this year.

Ruger American is a good budget rifle. Check out the TC Venture. It’s well worth the money.

I went with the weatherby vanguard 2 because it had the 24” barrel. I think you can get it between $550-$600.

I am looking at the ruger American predator in 6.5 for my sons first rifle. I like the fact it has a threaded barrel so I can slap a decent brake on the end to further help with recoil. Magpul also sells the hunter stock for these rifles that would make it feel much sturdier and improve looks. Plus side to the stock swap is the ability to use larger magpul magazines

My father picked up the savage axis 2 from academy last month. With the rebate and 15 dollars back for the credit card I think he paid a little over 200 for the rifle. Very nice trigger and extremely accurate

6.5 doesn’t kick at all. I would let my 6 year old shoot it if he could figure out how to aim through a scope
