Yes. the on/off switch is underneath. I assume it is digital.

Sounds like the mother board fried. Only way is to take it apart and test the board.

that would be the bypass switch. It should go full voltage when switched on. When switched off the hand control(potentiometer)takes over for variable voltage.
Being that yours is digital I haven't worked on one yet. They're supposed to be fairly fail proof.Click that switch and see if it goes full throttle. If it does then you definitely have a main board issue and I'm not sure how much a digital main board costs. I'm sure it's over $350.00.
Check that switch first before we go any further.

Check page 15 here and see what you can figure out.

That switch has been flipped many times. It is not a full throttle switch but an on/off switch. "I/O" is the label. When in the "I" position, I have variable control only.

I looked at the manual you linked and all of those testes were performed on board the boat. It appears to be a circuit board, but I may be under warranty.

Gotcha. Like I said,I haven't worked on any digital hand control models yet. The analog ones it was a high bypass switch.

well, most of the time that's the only place to access 24v DC.

that's what I was wondering. But getting it fixed before thursday under warranty is going to be the issue. Even if someone could diagnose it and find the problem they most likely would need to have the part mailed in from the Motorguide company.

cut me some slack. Just trying to help out a fellow OB'er. I have good fluke multi meters and amp draw connectors for it.I also have digital oscilloscope i can use at any time and the knowledge to use both. That's all it takes to diagnose any electrical problem,I was just trying to see if I could get him to do some initial troubleshooting.

Jsmoke--the warranty is under your name. Will I mess you up if I transfer it to mine?

I hear things, but guy gave me your TM to fish a tourney with it and a lower unit for my Yamaha for another one so I can't complain nor attest to his alleged illegal activities.
