I've got an opportunity to buy a bowfishing rig for what I consider a good price, but it is a recurve takedown.

What say the OB on bowfishing with a recurve? I really had a compound in mind, but there may be advantages to the recurve for quick shots?

Ever see anyone use a trigger release on a recurve?

I am not a bowhunter by any means

I much prefer a recurve for bowfishing. They're much more natural for instinctive shooting for me.

eta: I shot compounds all my life, until recently, but not bowfishing. I always used a recurve. They're faster, made to shoot off the shelf, more accurate for that type of shooting (for me), and light weight.

What kind of recurve are you looking at?

Call him up. He's always looking for someone to go with him. Me him and the cousin went out last weekend. They killed about 15 and I killed a 5th. Water was a little dirty but its tough when you see multiple fish.
