I have been offered a hobie pedal drive to take out on Wednesday. Looking for any recs on where to launch. Closer to NOLA the better.

Im pretty sure Bass Pro would frown upon him launching in their "pond"

Launch in the marsh off the side of Grand Bayou Village Rd between Myrtle Grove and Port Sulphur.
Or if you want to fish for bass then launch along Hwy 51 north of Laplace, under I-55

Point Aux Chene is about 1 1/2 hours away. They are the nicest most helpful people you will run across. Specks and reds are biting within 1/2 mile of the launch and if you need help Mr. Eddie will come and get you in his boat.

Prien Lake may not be a bad idea in LC

If you want to stay close, try launching at Irish Bayou. It's close, and there is a lot of marsh to paddle between the bayou and the lake. Good Luck and let us know how you did where ever you go.

I'd launch at Bayou Log Cabins in Port Sulphur, reds and trout within easy pedaling distance. Just make sure to use the honor box when you launch.
