fwiw, I don't believe it. Not saying it isn't tru, just saying I don't believe it.

Whether it's denial or not, in 2011, I don't believe stories and photos I see on the internet.

I'm still skeptical of that picture. Hopefully that was the only one in the river.

Pic is legit, as is the place they caught it (near the mouth)

There's probably more.

That pic and story are absolutely true. A long time friend of mine caught a much smaller one not long after that pic surfaced. I would think the chance of being attacked are slim, but the chance is still there.

Boat Launch Tchefuncte River

Looking for a boat launch? Anyone know where there is a general launch?

Whatever you do, PAY ATTENTION AND ADHERE TO THE NAVIGATIONAL MARKERS.

Do NOT attempt to just go straight out or straight into the mouth of the Tchefuncte...

Trust me on this one. I learned the hard way after having to buy a new prop from running aground the first time I ever attempted to go out of the t-func.

I have no constructive info to add to this thread, but I can't pass up the chance to add this worthless post:

Tchefuncte to the left
Tchefuncte to the right
Tchefuncte, Tchefuncte, Tchefuncte all night

I've heard about bull sharks in Lake Pontchartrain for years...wouldn't surprise me if they got into the rivers there. They've also been caught really far north, like Wisconsin or some shite.

Friend of mine caught a 200lb bull shark about 1/2 mile offshore in the lake last month. There have been sharks in the lake for as long as there have been fish in the lake.

they are in there. they are able to live in both fresh and saltwater with relative ease. its why i will never go swimming in rivers like that. you literally never know what is in there with you

I spent all weekend on the 4th swimming in river out by the mouth, no shark sightings. Sucks that the beach is gone but we just anchor and jump in.
