The accuracy of those population numbers are not all that great. A very conservative factoring is used across the board and then it is only as good as the people doing the surveys.

Case in point. Colorado has had deer and elk populations decline for over a decade now with the worst if it being in SW part of the state.

Low and behold somebody finally realized they were screwing up the back bear population calculations, giving an answer wrong by several magnitudes. Now you have $100 OOS bear tags and increased tag limits being proposed.

At the end of the day repatriated predators are a net negative for wildlife and now are nothing more than a tool for anti hunting activities.

No freaking way it’s that low. Hell I bet there are twice that many in Tensas Parish alone.

Couyon, do you not hunt very much? To hunt by Tensas and only used two bears in a season is hard to believe. I constantly see bears in Madison Parish. Saw four on one hunt last week.
