Looking to make a fish cage, to be used for bream.. Want one that is left in the pond so when we go during the week and catch 3 or 4 we can just toss them in the cage and leave them until the weekend then take them out to use for bait on limb lines and trout lines. If anyone has any good suggestions leme know thanks

Hollow out a crab trap, and close off the holes. Use the original lid to retrieve fish.

Using the drum with holes sounds like the best idea to me.
If you don't have access to one you can always get one of the classic little minnow traps and just use that.
Fill it with old bread, left overs, dog food, etc and you also have the chance that your couple of bream may turn into a trap full of bait.

How about using netting and hula hoops (perhaps 4), a top, bottom, and a couple in the middle attach the net with zip ties and it would also be collapsible for easy storage. Just drop some weights in the bottom to keep it down…

We use the tubs out of old washers. Heavy enough to stay put if you want to put it on the bank and already has holes in it.
