Take a big blue barrel and cut plenty small holes all around it. Take a full size tire inner tube and attach it to the top. You can tie it off and leave it. My buddy uses several of them at his camp. Some for bait, some for catfish that he doesnt feel like cleaning yet.

similar to this. just with inner tubes and we dont make the openings that big. just cut a hole large enough to add/take out the fish

we dont do them with the whole top open like that. just an opening large enough to put the fish.

The ones I've seen are just like that, but they keep them tied up where there's still a foot or so above the water so they don't jump out.

the inner tube is big enough that it keeps about 10-12 inches of the barrel out of the water.

I was referring to the live nets. I also use the bait traps, never questioned the legality. Legal in La, or I have been lucky for a long time.
