Sorry for pulling a thread from the crypts.
How is it holding up 7 years in? Also, do you have pics? I’m considering TWP for my posts.

Check out GLEAM spar varnish. I used some recently and it was very easy to work with.
I can't vouch for longevity yet though.

I have stained cypress. Does ok but over time they just suck up the stain. Mine are in bad need of it again. Definitely will look into the other things people mentioned when I redo them this spring.
