Academy shelves are empty. Puglias might be a little more but they have a lot more.

Puglia's, even when on St. Claude many years ago was just like their store in Metairie today. Narrow aisles with TONS of stuff available.

Kind of reminds me of an old sporting goods store that was big in N.O. years ago called Security Sporting Goods.

Yes this is very true. But something about a gogan worm, when you fish with it. You will see the difference. They are very heavy and dense. I fish wacky style a lot, and use a gamagazo round #4 hook weedless. I Find that the worm suspends itself about 2 feet under the water. and it takes a long time to rip. YAMAMOTO worms I like, but they tear almost on every fish! Zoom is a joke. like right now Bayou Black they are biting on june bug red flake, they don't have that color in gogan. So i'm using zoom. Last trip out, 2 people used 6 bags of worms ! With gogan might use three. that's only 8 worms per bag. with zoom thats I think is 20 per bag. I fish hard and for me gogan is a way better worm. My old worms when you melt them down you can see the defference in the material that both companies use.

Gotta do what works for you but for the price I would rather use 6 bags of zoom if needed. Or even a local bait company. Googan will never get a cent of my money. I’m actually glad to see somebody say they are decent. Kinda thought they were all just overhyped bs they made up to benefit from all the YouTube followers. But honestly where I drew the line is when they named their craw the exact same name as a local bait company Cajun Lures. The crackin craws, no respect to me. I will buy the Cajuns all day vs the googans. And if I need a custom color like that I can call and talk to the owner and he will make it personally.

Go see Mark at Superior tackle. Prices are reasonable, and what he’s carries is well curated to work in our area.

I like Mr. Mark they are honest people. For a small shop they carry a lot of product. And if they don't have in stock they can get it.

Make their own plastic lures
He was a bass professional lost the classic over a bass falling out of the boat by ounces.
He takes designs and improves them.
Go in their shop around Orlando,Florida and it Is unreal.

As long as you can plan ahead, this makes it worthwhile to shop local. While i go to Academy on occasion, it is always better to shop locally.
