Lay it on me OB. I am in the market for a new scope and want to check my options.

What type of scope? Hunting scopes go to optics planet.

But I like Larue mounts for my ar scopes and red dots so I get the optic and mount combo from them

Yes. A hunting scope for my new T3.

I am most likely going with a VX3 for it, but want to look at other options as well.

Optics planet or midway, but call and ask them what their best price is, they knocked $65 off the sale price for me last time ( which was over $200 cheaper than cabelas, plus no sales tax and free shipping)

Check Amazon (that is what I generally use). Optics Planet is also great.

This is a helluva deal on a VX3 also.

VX3 FOR 549

I don't have any experience with Vortex. How do they compare to Leupolds?

Ok, you asked for it. This one....if you are an OT baller.

Zeiss

CONQUEST HD5 3-15x50

I have this for my hunting rifle and I love it. Great picture that is very clear. The 3-15 magnification makes this scope the most versatile scope you can own.

I have the same problem with Zeiss. Seems like they're very picky about eye relief.

Trijicons have horrible eye relief in my experience with them as well.

The 549 plus 10% off for Memorial Day sale

Go to cabelas and look at the vortex side by side with a leupold , or for that matter just about any other like priced scope and see for yourself, I was cautious at first but love . I have an older vari x III and a Swarovski , and the vortex is my favorite. For the same price you get the 50 mm obj, the 30mm tube, illuminated reticle, side focus, ballistic turrets and in my opinion better glass

Just make sure you are looking at the viper PST line, they have about 3 different grades

Which model did you own?

My Zeiss is the best scope I have ever own. From reading other message boards I have heard that Swarovski scopes are even better than Zeiss.

Swarovski were more expensive so I had to pass.

I don't think I've ever looked through a trijicon.

I will argue that Swarovski scopes have gone down in quality over the past 8-10 years. Their binos only seem to improve.

The Z3 line yes, trying to appeal to a new market, the Z5 and Z6 line, still top notch
