Late in the day is perfect if you can go then, even in the busiest weekends. A lot easier if you live close. Will miss that now that I'm not 45 minutes away. Late Sunday afternoons used to be my favorite

I've been whitewater kayaking in Western NC for 25+ years. Tell me what you want and I'll tell you where to go. What class whitewater? What's your skill level? What area are you interest in?

Personally, I had a good friend who drowned while kayaking.

For those that mentioned UT, there's not that much here. A limited season in the spring, depending on runoff. Idaho is the place out west.
