I'm having a bachelor party next summer and want to go offshore fishing, probably from Venice, LA. Is this the best location to go offshore fishing from Louisiana? What charter company would you guys recommend?

-not sure, never been offshore fishing before. But i've looked at pictures and would sure like to catch a warsaw grouper. Wahoo, mahi mahi, and tuna seem like they would be fun catches too.
- 4-5 people
- day trip (most likely on Memorial Day weekend)

For all of that, do an overnighter, waste of money if not IMO

Venice, GI, Fourchon, and Coco are all good choices (much more to do outside of fishing at the non-Venice locations)

Venice
Deep south charters, Ive heard nothing but good about those guys. Theyre usually last back to the dock bc they bust their asses putting you on fish.

Why is that the case? Fish bite a lot better at night?

Just the process of catching Tuna, its not like specks, takes some time to get them sometimes and lots of action at night. Its a blast and well worth it

I went with them in march...josh Howard will fish for anything you want. That said, we were meat hunters and the only thing biting was blackfin. He was not much on personality but he and his deckhand ( Matthew) worked their asses off and we didn't get back to the launch until after 700. Well worth the money.

Well he is 9 months ahead of the game.

Call Ryan Dicharry with Reel Addiction or Lance Walker with Fish Commander. both out of Grand Isle/Fourchon and both will put you on the fish.

I'm doing a friendly trip with Ryan this weekend in his new 33 Freeman

I go with them every year and they load the boat. I've been on lots of charters but these are the only ones I keep going back to. They got a camp in Venice you can stay in and they'll cook for ya.
