Bullet choice depends on what I'm hunting and which gun is being used, but generally I'd say:
Varmints/prairie dogs: Hornady V-Max. I like Varmageddon's as well, but haven't been able to find any for 2-3 years.
Deer: I hunt w/ long barreled handguns so my muzzle velocity is 200 fps slower than a rifle. Consequently, bullets that may be a little "soft" in rifles, work just fine for me. Traditionally, my #1 deer bullet has been a light for caliber Nosler Ballistic Tip. OTOH, in the last few years I've been tryin the Barnes TTSX and been very happy w/ them. For the most part, I could also be pretty content w/ the Nosler Accubond.
