Where is the best place to launch? Ive never been and would like to go check it out this weekend. And any other helpful tips would be appreciated; places, baits, etc.

I believe they have a launch on Paris rd about a mile or so from the big bridge. (been quite a few years since i went to Chalmette.)

Another option would be the Chef Pass and you could make the run by cutting through bayou Thomas and running the shoreline of Lake Borgne. Also some great spots between those two points to stop along the way. If the wind is blowing it appears you could run the intercoastal and cut through Bayou Leche. (looking at google maps)

Wish i could help more but i mainly fish East of this area.

When you come down off the green bridge, theres a few boat launches about a mile or so down the road on your right.

ETA: Those launches sell baits as well if I remember correctly, a decent spot I guess, would be right by the castle, seems to be a spot where the fish bite at least decently.
