Hey bluemoons,

Thanks for the reply. When you say "some stuff you shouldn't run a 22' boat through" can you explain more? I am really interested in hearing the limits of the boats in the question.

Thank you all for the replies! Seems like it will be a rough choice between blue wave and skeeter!

i fish both regularly, plus pops is looking at getting a blue wave. if he does, im buying his sea hunt.
blue wave is a dryer ride and fancy. it also has higher sides which mom and wife likes. I don't feel a need for a clear livewell with LED lights in it though
the blue wave we looked at was rigged for fishing though, they had some all fancy and with dry storages but it looks like we're going to opt for rod lockers instead. it also cuts through the waves better than the skeeter does..

but FWIW im looking at the skeeter, it just feels like it can do more what I want better than a blue wave, get skinnier and still fish the bays and beaches. as others said, bare bones fishing machine... and it was cheaper too

and no tribal decals on the side

Blue Wave and Nautic Star are almost identical boats

Read this about hull construction. It describes a two piece hull vs. a three. I wouldn't own a bay boat unless it was a three piece hull.

I just meant I put that boat through some really rough stuff and never felt unsafe. 4' short period chop, 4' rollers in the MS sound, nearshore snapper fishing, etc.

Love the boat, Matt.

I just texted MN a question about mooring cover fit.

I've liked every skeeter I've been in. They're nice boats.

Pawpaw bought one in about 1980 and it's still getting used. Transom had to be redone once.

Matt:

On your 26- what's the height on trailer from floor to top of the T-top?

Curious for camp clearance.

Thanks!

I went to the boat show and there are some great bay boats in the 25 ft range these days. The Crevalle, Blackjack, and the Ranger all stuck out to me. We are going to ride in all three over the next 6 weeks or so.
