Can you still cast easy from the front deck with the bimini up?
You can, but moving around the boat with a rod becomes difficult. Plus if your rod holders are on the center console, you will probably break some rod tips.

Too nice of boats to put an ugly bimini top on. Go with a t-top

I would say the same about an ugly, expensive and immovable t-top. Again, they both suck, but for the given situation I'd pick a bimini.
Didn't y'all see my /thread thingy?
I forgot what I was saying.

T-tops make bigger boats look MUCH better IMO. I wouldn't want a t-top on anything less than 22' though.

i have 2 little kids, so a day on the river would be nice to have a bimini.
You have no idea how much that shade will benefit you. Get the bimini and remove it if you're going fishing with your buddies. T-tops are nice but they are permenant and really only good for installing radar. I've got several Curados and Calcuttas on the bottom of various lakes and bays that have jumped out the launchers on them. And rods broken in them when somebody catches one in their backcast. So I don't see the storage benefit.

My take. T tops are for the birds unless you are installing radar. They will cost you money in the long run. When trailering, more drag, less MPG. When on the water, the same, less MPG.
Shade? Not much of any unless you stnd right under. Lost rods bouncing out the rod holders, you bet!
Bimini top, takes up little space. Cost 1/3 of a t top. Can remove if and when you want to. No air drag when closed. Can run with it on the water with it up. 90F= days, getting under one is like turnning on the AC.
It's a no brainner to me. Been there, done both.

Also, The t-top on our boat probably restricts the top speed by 4-5 mph which isn't a big deal. It's nice to be able to hold onto when you're running.
Also acts as a sail when fishing in the wind.

I don't like anything overhead, anytime. Like someone said, we go under bridges that the windshield barely clears at high tide during the winter.

Bimini on a deck boat, t on a bay- but I wouldn't put one on. Wear a hat and sunscreen.

So if you want your boat to "look bigger" go with the t-top.

No bigger than 21'.....sorry for the delay in response

No bimini on a bay
T Top is like doubling your square footage
Can get a tbag for life jackets and really pimp the top and bottom with stereo, antennae, radio, chart bag, cup holders, rod holders etc.
Leaves more space on console
frick the wind drag shite, ittsa boat
Just google t tops for ideas

Neither. Hats and sunscreen dude.
Bimini is for old people or kids to get out of the sun.
If you serious about catching inland get neither.

t top
it is not close
Anyone who has fished in the summer knows the most valuable square footage on the boat is the shade thrown by the t top. I start looking for it at 9 am in August
