If I had a family, I'd get a 24'or 26' cc boat, something like a Blazer 2440.
Kind of out of nowhere, but I'm really, really thinking about getting a cc bay boat just over 24'. I've got my eife going along with it because I told her if I hot it then I would drivee her and 3 other females in June for the big Southern Striper Babes 4 woman striper tournament.
I'd be able to put them on fish and give them a good shot at it.

Bay boat will do almost anything a bass boat will do. A bass boat is probably easier to handle on the trolling motor in close quarters because it will have slightly less free board to act as a sail. A bay boat will do MUCH more in a bay and even offshore on the right day than a bass boat will do. The bass boat hull may have a SLIGHT advantage in shallow water...but only slight if any at all.
There is a caveat...add a Tee top to a bay boat and all of a sudden you have yourself a pretty decent sail boat. Not something that can't be overcome but it takes more effort in close quarters to handle a bay boat on the trolling motor than a bass boat...it will take that much and more effort if the bay boat has a Tee Top and god forbid someone has one with a damned Bimini...

It sucks arse. Had a center console and after 3 trips it was gone. The woman wants another boat for riding and pulling a tube when the family comes down. I’ll allow it to keep mine out the salt during winter trout season but it sleeps outside next to the trash can

I do it often. It's not bad at all.

There are some big differences between the smaller 19-22 ft bay boats that have lower gunnels and less free board and the big 24-26 bays that are deep and heavy. The small ones are light and often only powered with 115-150 hp outboards whereas the big ones are now running 450 hp outboards.
There is a huge gap between the various styles and sizes of so called “bay” boats.

I bass fish often from an 18' Bay boat with a 115 and a 24' big arse deep drafting bay boat with a 200. I've never had any reason to fuss about either one.
