. I understand you want a change in the law. You could atleast post things that have to do with the issue at hand. Two word: navigable/1812. The end.

The redfish tournaments cancelling are next up

Highly unlikely. Louisiana is their cash cow. For the IFA event in Houma on August 5th there were between 100-105 boats entered in terrible weather. For the same event last Saturday in Orange, TX there were 52 boats in great weather.
B.A.S.S. can survive touring the rest of the country, for redfish tournaments Louisiana is the holy land.

Local law enforcement is being told to stand down for big redfish tournaments.
Same thing for the kayak world championships that was held in Leeville. Law enforcement was told to look the other way.

Are you ever going to answer where you fish?
quote:Dude, it's the law of the State. What's fricked up is the attitude that because you're in a boat you can trespass and that the state should just take people's property. That's fricked up.
Just trying to understand why you have such a fricked up attitude in regards to water access

Not true. And in most cases the field of boats scatter to many different zipcodes. It's very common for a tourney launched in Houma to have a large number run to Venice or Delacroix. No one is calling all the costal sheriff departments all at once and asking them to look the other way during redfish tourneys
Your comment on the World Kayak tourney in Leeville is spot on. There were calls made to that specific parish

No one is asking the state to take someone's property dumbass.
It's pretty damn simple, we want the law to match every others states, "if you can float it, you can boat it" in tidally influenced water.

What's fricked up is that you don't believe it can be challenged because it's "state law".

So under the current state law, when a bank erodes away and becomes part of the navigable water, is that a taking?

Forgot about that one in Calcasieu, but in this case it was an agreement with the land owner, not with any governing body. They were able to come to an agreement with one landowner.

I don't think so. That's probably covered in the Code and discussed in many a Law review article though.

And you know the courts are going to treat the different forms in different ways. Stream vs lake vs marsh vs sea.
