Shimano Curado

Both can be had online for $150 if you shop a bit.
I have the newer curado 200I and I like it a lot. I keep hearing good things about the 13's but I'm skeptical. As a company, they are REALLY into making them look flashy (custom color handles and stuff like that). Makes me wonder how much time they actually spent on the guts and how well they will hold up.

I have 2 citicas and neither care for saltwater as much as my curado. But I'm in a kayak and probably subject to more saltwater than a boat.

I have an old-school Bantam Curado that is still my go-to. Bought a couple Chronarchs from my cousin when he quit tournament fishing. I find the older Shimano stuff to be better than the new ones. I have heard they've increased the quality in the last couple years though.

Save your time and money and go get you a H20 Xpress Mettle from Academy. I've got 4 of them on four different rods and as long as academy carries them I'll never use anything different.
My oldest one is over 5 years old and still works like new.
If anything breaks in one you can take it back and get it replaced but I've never had to replace one.
I don't know if they still do it, but they used to run a special around fathers day and would sell them for around $30.

You can get a Lews BB1 on Amazon for about $130 right now. One of the best all around reels I own. Love that thing.

I bought a Daiwa exceler and a Berkley lighting rod on eBay for around $100. Could no be happier.

I have two of these:
Quantum Team KVD
They are my go to reels. I also have an older Lew's Speed Spool that I picked up refurbished. It has served me well.
Several people have recommended the Shimano reals. I don't own any but have used friends' various models. Excellent reels by every account, kind of the gold standard for bass fishing bait casters.
