Does anyone know if you can grow avocados in South Louisiana? I hear some people have had success, but it's hard to do? Have to make sure you only have one tree so they don't cross propagate or something?

I planted a Fantastic last spring in a container. This spring, my tree has had at least 50 small avocados form. Almost all of the first ones dropped. I have two that are larger than quarter size hanging on. The tree bloomed again and I have a lot of bb sized avocados growing. Not sure if these will drop too.
