Put her in 3rd and hammer down

Best torque to gear ratio ATV, ever.

I have a '99 Yamaha BB 350 2WD; Still gets the job done; but not as good as the old Honda did.

My buddy has a 97 300. I love watching that thing keep up/out do the big bikes. His is snorkelled, 27" Outlaws, 2" lift, disc brake conversion, gear reduction, high comp piston and an axle paddle. His previous one was a 93 built almost the same way. He once flipped it over in a lake. Walked out, drank a beer while it floated tires up for 20 minutes. Flipped it back, pulled it out, drained it all and had it running in 5 minutes. Turned around and went right back in the lake. It was drowned out 3 times that day(and numerous times before/after) and went about 6 more months before ever smoking.

2009 Honda Recon

Damn battery is already bad.

I had a 2003 Honda Rancher and the battery lasted 5 years and never once had to charge it. Once I stopped riding or cranking it every week it died.

I now have a 2009 Honda Foreman S 4x4 with 26" Swamp Lites on ITP SS 312's

Not sure what the deal is with your battery issues, I've never had to charge mine at all and I'll go over a month between cranking it/riding.

Oh yea, foot shift a must. The Honda ES system does pretty well for what it is, but don't even get me started on the auto's these days. When you're looking ahead on the trail and it's about to get nasty, you want to be able to stomp it down into whatever gear you want.

Can't stress this enough. Controlling your gears manually is a huge priority for me going through rice fields and marsh. The electronic shift will break and does not like water, dont need that headache!

I have a 2003 Rancher 350 4x4 ES and I have never changed or charged the battery on it. Works like a charm.

One day I'm going electric...Bad Boy, Ruff n Tuff, Stealth, something.
