I have the redfield 50 mm but haven't used it. It looks good in the back yard but hasn't been field tested yet.
My dad got the same one last year and switched out with his nikon buckmaster. He says the redfield pulls in more light but is not as crisp as the nikon.

Yes, that's why I wanted it. Kind of a PITA to do windage and elevation with a penny
It is going on a CZ 452

Good for you! I'm sure you'll like it. Silly me, I didn't realize it had external knobs when I bought it. :roll eyes: Nevertheless, I like the scope. It's made an accurate hunting rig out of the Savage bolt action 17 M2 it sits atop. Man, I'm jealous of the CZ. I've never owned one, but will some day. What caliber is yours in?

The gun-dedicated forums are high on Mueller's.

eta: I'd trust their advice far more than the knuckleheads that post on TD.

It is a 452 Ultra Lux in .22LR
Don't know how I lucked out, but the outdoor store around the corner had one sitting on a side rack. They are supposed to be $400 or something, but I guess they had it marked wrong because I got it for $289
I just have to make a decision on the rings now. Supposedly the CZ ones aren't that good, and the aftermarket ones all have both positive and negative reviews
BKL mounts
Millet Angle-Loc
Warne

I put both a 3-9x and a 4x scope with see-though mounts on a 452 trainer and concluded they were an abomination considering how good the existing iron sights were and I removed the scopes. That gun is perfect without a scope no matter how bad your eyes are. You will need high-mount rings so the scope doesn't interfere with the bolt which makes the gun awkward to handle.
eta: kygunco has the military trainer 452 on sale for $329 cash.

The Warne and Millet rings aren't see through, but the BLK ones have a slit to see the iron sights through. Mind if I ask which ones you used?
I have also seen the Leupold ones on a 452

I bought the 11mm high mount $10 BSA rings from Amazon for the scope. There is a narrow sight view to see the iron sights but the iron sights are useable with these rings. Again, both the CZ trainer and the Ultra Lux really shine without any scope added. Shoot the gun with iron sights only before you spend any more money.

I've been doing it for a year or so, just ready to stretch it out past 75yds
These are the rings. Couldn't get a full picture off of their website, so a PRNTSCRN will have to do

I cannot provide a direct link to the rings I bought right now because I am on an Apple computer and retarded, but the rings are 11mm BSA made in China aluminum on Amazon and cost $10.85. My rings put the scope higher than those you posted and have double bolts on either side on both the gun and scope mount sections and are very high quality for the price.
I'll post a direct link to the rings I used tomorrow, when I get to my normal computer, but again, I do not recommend them or any scope for a CZ .22 (non American) rifle as they are perfect as is.

I would add Vortex to your scope choices. The diamondback line is in your price range and I believe it's on par or better than VX1's.

And I'm a leupold fan. I have 6 different leupold products but I think for the price , the vortex is as good if not slightly better.
