Are H&K MP5s as hard to find as I'm finding out?

Or am I just not looking in the right spots? Is there a newer version that I'm not aware of that has taken the place and that's why I can't find them?

You must not be....

ETA: In all seriousness, they are very hard to find, they were imported to the US for the civilian market in extremely limited numbers, they will pop up on gunbroker from time to time. Another option is a clone, it just wont be an H&K

SP5 is the current semi auto version. They kinda suck tbh. Full autos are available. Those are Mp5s.

I saw a full auto on gunbroker for 40k I think. Not willing to spend that much to be honest. I still want to have other fun.

There are some nice high dollar clones better than what HK is doing with the Sp5. Look at Dakota Arms.

H&K has never been particularly friendly to the civilian market, they are military and law enforcement first, everyone else a disdainful second. They are better about their handguns simply because the US market is too lucrative.

Are you looking for a Pre 86 transferable Full Auto? If so get ready to spend 30K.

If looking for a Semi Auto Zenieth Arms makes a really good clone. They bought some of HK machining tools.

PTR is making one now as well. They reversed engineered the roller block system. They are getting pretty good reviews.

The Zenith imported gun from Turkey isn’t a “clone” per se. It is a licensed HK product made on their machines in Turkey. I was issued multiple MP’s during my prior life and can say it is the best I have seen. I have two and they run flawlessly. Would recommend.
