Tiger stripe no good. It's polarized, horizontial. Natural forest is vertical.

What one more shot said is mostly true, except that some quality clothes are indeed worth it.
Nobody really needs to type a long paragraph about packing the heavy clothes in, and putting them on at the stand, because that is common knowledge and is known.

I've seen proof that my grandpa killed 100's of deer over the years while wearing no more than a Gander Mtn jacket and Liberty overalls.
If it got really cold, he'd wear on of those Elmer Fudd looking fleece lined hats

An underrated brand of camo is Rocky. It is way cheaper then most high end brands, but all pieces that I have purchased have been great purchases.

If you ever watch that outdoor show "Hunting With HECS" you're doing it all wrong if not using their brand of clothing.
When I did hunt years ago, I never used cammo, just warm comfortable clothes in the winter and waterproof stuff if duck hunting and always managed to take home game.

Sure, we all know of grandpa in work clothes, smoking, killed a big one. But things aligned for him that day, that time. He was still, and his wind was right. But we all also know about those white cotton egg crate looking long johns they used.

I still wear these as a base layer in the winter. Of course, that's southern winter. If I was in Wisconsin I could see investing in better more expensive apparel for outdoor activities in the winter. I don't think it is necessary down here.

I hunt in south central Tennessee and do alot of bow hunting from lock-on stands. Season starts in August with a in felt hunt but I really do not start till the bucks start chasing.
I like wear Cabela's camo pants with long sleeve shirt when it is not to cold.
I invested in insulated Carhart Camo bib overalls w/ leg zippers and insulated Carhart Camo hooded bomber jacket years ago and have been very happy with the warmth and can not remember ever being too cold. I add a layer of Under Armor and some fleece when it is below freezing.

I upgraded, I like my stuff from Sitka. Best bow hunting gear I have ever had. No burrs, no three point tears, quiet, well laid out, perfect hood, sleeves fit snug so no string slap. Just overall a well made, well designed product.
The pants are the same, come up high on the low back, and the jacket fits longer so no draft issues. Plenty of zippers to release heat that you can zip up once you cool down.
Big fan.

I have accumulated plenty of Sitka and Kuiu gear over the years. Buy most of it when on sale or get it for Christmas/Birthday gifts. I like it because it lasts, is layed out well and has an athletic fit. Seems to keep you warm without the bulk. If you bow hunt I think it is definitely worth it.

I’ve got some nice pieces from Duck Camp that are a big upgrade from layering long underwear then sweatpants/sweatsuit then camo. Much sleeker and quieter. You will pay for them but they are great.

I only upland bird and duck hunt BOOTS yes worth every penny Socks love darn toughs, cold I have a a waterproof shell I got on sell that’s a beretta, layers fleece and Marino wool it’s the best thing ever. Waders shite neoprene mostly hunt out of a boat.
