Anyone Use Mercury Vessel View

I’m looking to see if any of you fellas use this and if it’s worth the money? I mostly just want it for my break in period but could see it come in handy for other things. Thanks

Which version? I had vessel View Mobile on one of my boats. Was pretty neat, but when buying my new boat, I just went with a Mercmonitor.

Hmmm, what’s a mercmonitor? Haven’t seen that yet.
I picked up that silver and black Cat Classic from Real Deal in Pineville Saturday. Awesome boat!

Are you looking to add a VesselView MFD? Or, the VesselView Mobile? I have the Mercury VesselView 902 multi-engine and it's fantastic. Good data available including, fuel, battery, water temp, trim, hours, etc.

Don’t know yet, probably mobile. It’s fir a 2024 mercury 200 pro xs 4 stroke on a bass boat

Mercmonitors look like this

I wish I knew enough about mine to fully use it. I leave mine on a screen that tells me water pressure, RPM and something else i can't recall right now.

I’ll look into the mercmonitor also

Do you have a NMEA 2000 network in the boat now? You'll need one for this stuff. Mobile, you don't, but you use that on your phone.

I have the view mobile for my cell phone. It helps me keep up with regular oil changes and provides any trouble codes along the way.

Go synthetic and never change it
478 hours today and two years old on 10/22/2024, wish it was a merc.

I use the mobile version. Well worth it. Motor is a '22 115 pro xs. I like it to track my gas and hours. Easy to install the module. I recommend it.

The boat I bought came with it, guy showed me the app when we first ran the boat to show me the hours, top speed, no observed/blocked faults, etc. so it gave me some piece of mind with the purchase.
The app and module are awesome tho, helps me know running temp of the boat, rpm, speed, water pressure, oil pressure and voltage of the battery (which recently helped me diagnose an unplugged alternator).
In case you do get a beep and a fault is observed by the app it'll give you the exact fault code and a synopsis of the cause of the fault and if it's okay to run the motor still

That's what I do, 100 hours and don't worry about the year. I write the hours on the filter (sharpie) and then compare it to the hours it now has.

I use it on my 60 horse tiller duck boat. Engine is on a jack plate and sometimes it is ran at near wide open throttle almost above the cooling intake for 20-30 minutes...not long and not often but long enough that over heating was a concern for me. Its a tiller boat so a temp gauge wasn't practical. It works and I think I paid about $150 for the module and installed it in about 5 minutes. I also use it to monitor hours and what not but don't really need it for that because the engine doesn't get used very often. If I had a 150 or bigger I would use it for certain.
Anecdotally I was in another boat 120 miles off the gulf coast of Florida (Tampa) about a month ago and the app started saying the engines (4 - 300 horse mercury's) charging system was not functioning properly. The Garmin electronics, when this initially started, showed 13.4 volts, normal. It took the Garmins about 90 minutes to start showing a drop in charging....not that the Garmin system has issues but apparently they read at the unit and depending on how the system is installed 3 of 4 alternators charging would probably not indicate a problem. After a couple of hours after the Vessel View started showing the issue the Garmins did also. 120 miles offshore. Not exactly what you want. Not really a problem because the engines will run without a completely dead battery but if they had to be shut down for some reason cranking those big bastards 120 miles offshore is not something you want to leave to chance. Made it back to the hill fine, all electronics worked fine and even if they hadn't Florida was clearly visible because it was clear as a bell and the shore clouds were visible from about 8 am until we tied up. Was still good to know there was an issue.

Dang. Going yearly, I'll have done 3 services before 100 hours.

Ive had similar situation. By the time we got to South Pass the Garmin was reading 7 volts (house battery)

Mercs wouldn’t go over 3k rpm in protect mode.
Should’ve known there would be an issue when the guy had a Honda generator on the deck plugged into onboard charger to keep batteries charged though

When it ran out of gas we started heading in bc no more charging for Batteries.
Man we used to do some dumb shite
