If you're willing to spend $1200 you can get a montefeltro if you want a benelli or an A300 if you want a beretta.

Benelli M2 is in that range as well.

I thought the M2 was more expensive than it is. That's a great buy as well.

Benelli prices have been pretty flat for a while now and everything else has gone up.

I bought the 20 this year and killed a turkey and a handful of ducks with it. Shoulders and shoots well, I think.

I really bought it for my boy.

I handled one the other day, felt like hollow plastic. I’d get a midline Beretta or Benelli before the retay

My brother in law has one. He likes it. But I’ll ask the same question I asked him when he got his:

Why? They cost $1,000 and for a little more you can get a Beretta A300 or Benelli Montefeltro that shoots 3”.

His answer: I need to shoot 3.5” shells.

My response: With modern loads no one needs to shoot 3.5” shells.

I’m my head: (Just buy a Stoeger if you’re going that route. They’re less expensive and do the same thing with the same camo coating.)

Both of these are cheaper than the retay. That makes your point even harder to understand.

shite you can buy a SBE3 for a hundred dollars more than the fancy retay. You can buy THE premier Italian waterfowl gun for $100 more than a Turkish copy.

I'm totally mindblown that people are buying these things.

Good marketing, I guess?

I just looked on Gunbroker at the various 12’s.

Retay Masa Mara 3.5” $1,200-$1,500

Beretta A300 3” $850-$1,000
Benelli Montefeltro 3” $900-$1,000
Benelli M2 3” $1,200-$1,300
Benelli SBE 3 3.5” $1,600-$1,800
Beretta A400 3.5” $1,500-$1,800

Stoeger 3500 3.5” $570-$650-Also Turkish and with a long track record. It’s probably the best deal if you just have to sling 3.5” shells. I have one as a loaner or backup to an SBE 2 when I used to shoot the bigger gauge. That Stoeger has never failed to fire and has shucked everything given it.

This obviously doesn’t include the various offerings from Winchester, Mossberg, etc.
