If I have a 24 volt trolling motor, do I replace the 2 12 volt lead batteries with 2 12volt lithiums, or do you get a single 24v lithium?

Yeah 50s are plenty for most everybody but OP said he'd be fishing 3 days straight and the dock doesn't have good access to an outlet. In that case I could see the reason for stepping up in AH. 75AH might be the sweet spot if there's price savings. If not then might as well go 100AH if you aren't limited by space and weight.
Yes most of the time 2 days some of the time 3 days but hopefully this year 3-4 days a trip. I found some 75ah and would save total about 200.
3-100ah - 986
3-75ah - 755
3-50ah- 545
If I had easy outlet access I’d jump on the 50ah. I think I’m going to order the 100s just to get me going and be safe. As others mentioned it could also be used to start the engine if needed. I’ll put a reminder in my phone for a 4-6 month update. My current wet batteries are 86ah I believe. Thanks OB and sorry to OP for the hijack

I ordered 3-100ah lithium on Amazon today for 798 including tax. They had over 500 good reviews and 1 year gaurantee with 5 year warranty so I took the chance. I’ll charge them up and test them when they come in and update. Thanks again for the help fellas

Forgot to ask, do they have monitors of any kind? I had to add one after install.

I ordered a bluetooth monitor.
Edit- there’s an internal BMS but I figured you were asking about an external monitor for voltage etc

I bought a little 12 volt lithium for my trolling motor years ago for 100 bucks abs it was awesome. It would run the trolling motor all day

I've been running my Minn Kota 55lbs Terrova with a 12v 100ah LiFePo4 battery and I usually get three fishing trips in before I even have to think about charging. I run my Garmin Echomap of a 12v 10ah LiFePo4.
I liked it so much that I got a 12v 60ah LiFePo4 for my kayak.

quote:Yeah, capacity mostly as it's my understanding that voltage isn't going to tell you much. I spent a long time researching shunt meters as i really did not understand the concept at first.

Just when I think I have a grasp on it...
What kind of setup is this? Two 36volt lithiums in parallel for a 36 volt trolling motor?

Looks like they are. Same 36v twice the ah… the 36v I’ve seen are expensive. My 3 12v are scheduled for delivery on tomorrow

Update- I’ve used the lithium TM batteries twice so far and they have been better than I expected. The weight difference alone has been great. I haven’t used more than 25% in a trip with spot lock working it’s arse off. I’m going to hopefully give them a good workout this weekend. I also changed my charger to the Noco charger and it’s small and light. The first one I received had a bad bank but was replaced no questions. If i get 5-7 years out of the batteries I’d be more than pleased.

I ordered a single 24v 60ah generic lithium Lifepo4 from Amazon. It has arrived. It’s same size as a group 27 and only weighs 30lbs.
