Preface: I am NOT a Nautic Star salesman, nor am I otherwise compensated by Nautic Star (except for a couple tourney shirts and hats they sent me a couple years ago)

But now that you've mentioned it, Nautic Star's hull warranty is lifetime, period. Just thought I'd add that to all the other stuff since I left it out earlier.

If I were to get a bay boat, I would go with Nautic Star. I love the look and layout. Buddy of mine's dad has one that we fish out of and it is super nice. Plus their is a dealer 5 minutes from my house and I really like talking to the owner who is a great guy.

The only thing to consider about that- and I did when I bought mine- is that the owners of Nautic Star previously owned Sprint. When they folded Sprint, they backed out on a lot of claims and left the dealers holding the bag.

But, I will say this- Nautic Star was in my top 3- was very close to buying one- but, I'm in the manufactuting business and knowing that someone backed out on a deal like that and then reorganized really killed me.

The funny thing is that the dealer who told me that- Pellegrin Marine in Houma- appears to be a Nautic Star dealer now. He was selling Century then, and we all know how that worked out.

I got a 22ft Xpress BayBoat..I love it ..It has a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. It top ends about 48-52 mph depending on load, wind, etc...
I use it everywhere, it runs really shallow.
One of the reasons I bought it was because we fish around a lot of rocks and a lot of Oyster beds...
My buddy has the 20 Ft Xpress Bay series and the difference in ride from a 20ft to a 22 ft is night and day.
If you are going to fish open Lakes such as Toledo Bend or open Bays think about a 21-22 ft boat. Its worth the extra money.
