My transmission valve went out on my 2024 V-8 13k miles and they are on backorder. I'm driving a loaner right now and no telling when Chevy is going to get them. I see many others having the same issue.

No but I’m waiting on a new steering rack to come in for my 2018.

Can’t get right.

I had a 2017 1500 with the 5.3

Traded it in when the ticking started at 103,000 miles. Out of warranty at 100k of course.

frick Chevy. Never again getting my trust

Anyone know if GMC shares the same transmission? I’d really like to move into a new truck and they seemed to have the most reasonable offerings for 4x4 and something other than cloth seats.

GM is currently at the bottom of the list for half tons. They really are turds. Other manufacturers are making very capable and reliable trucks.

Had a 2017 w/the 5.3 / 6 sp trans. Hard shifts but no issues Traded it with 78k for a 21’ Silverado 3.0 Duramax/10 spd trans. No issues whatsoever till trading for the 2024 Silverado 3.0 Duramax/10 spd which so far is running flawlessly.

Tow a 20 ft Basscat/Merc 250 setup (@ 4,500lbs or so) about twice a month (100-180 miles roundtrip)

Knock on wood…… no issues so far.

Good move. At 100k they start to “tick” and before you know it, it’s a $7k problem

Picked my '17 High Country up from the transmission shop on Monday. Every brand of vehicle was represented in the shop yard, but it was 3-1 GM to the others for sure. Nice $5700 bill for a new 8 speed. Shop owner said that the 2022 and 23's were already starting to trickle in when I asked if I should go on and buy a new one.

I had mine replaced in my 2014 Rocky Ridge Chevy at about 120,000 miles. Drove it for about 2 months and it went out again. Had it replaced because the new one was still under warranty and haven't had a problem since. Like many have said, I won't buy another Chevy.
