Hit and miss with specks. Should get a limit of reds easy.

this ^^^^^^

thats pretty much the story everywhere this year, a few pockets of fish to be found here and there but for the most part there arent any real numbers of trout to be caught this year.

its been speculated the hard freeze we had last year hurt this years crop of fish by killing off most of the specks and baitfish that were inside the marsh and it may be a year or two to come back to the point where you can expect a chance at catching regular limits again

remember the posts about large numbers of pelicans showing up dead, they starved to death after the freeze because there were no fish left to eat. the results of that fish kill last year are what we are seeing this year

there are still lots and lots of reds to have fun with though

Appreciate the responses. We’re headed out in the am in hopes of finding a few. Maybe water will be a little more clear by then.

We caught some in Catfish lake last week. Did pretty well.

You know it's someone from out of town coming fish because
1) it's a kayak
2) it's an xpress
3) it's a blue wave or nautic star
4) its pulled by an f150 or tahoe

I've seen ones hewes, a few Mavericks and one of those xpress skiffs. I'm not an xpress fan at all but that skiff was nice.
I think theres a spyder or maverick for sale in Raceland
