What lake? There are lots of them in the USA.

Lot of birds showed up with this front by me. Could hear snows flying the river low today and had 300-400 ringnecks, canvasbacks, and redheads show up behind my house today. Should be a good opener next weekend with these fronts rolling thru.

My soul died a little bit the first time I hunted catahoula. I pride myself on brushing blinds, setting decoy spreads and taking good shots.

Blinds brushed with Christmas trees.
Blinds 45 yards apart in 12 directions.
Unpainted penzoil and Gatorade bottle “decoys”
Shooting cans hauling arse at 65 yards trying to dodge the decoy spreads

It was fun though. I thought they shut down the lake and it’s all private now or something. What’s the deal?

I am thinking of paying for a hunt in a flooded field… I see posts on fb 200 a gun.. do y’all think that’s worth it right now?

Going on a guided hunt for $200 is likely a waste of money, unless you hit some perfect weather conditions.

If you don't mind shooting 2 specks, a lone teal, and a pair of spoonies in a full 6 man pit blind than go give it a try.

Guides in SWLA are struggling their arse off right now, many of them are on FB advertising mid season(RED FLAG) and the pics they are advertising with from this season are embarrasing.

It's tough everywhere right now, but if you're looking for a change of scenery or a new experience than go give it a spin, it can't hurt.

Some parts. Some of it is still public to my understanding. The blinds I always hunted are fine.

We have seen different forecasts. Trip planned to hunt with family put on hold for work but forecast doesn't look promising for our zip code.

I saw two birds Saturday with mosquitoes buzzing all over me. I gave it 45 min and went deer hunting.

Youth weekend east zone was good. Ever since has been a waste of time. Not expecting much on the 18th

Was that the blind they call Steamboat? Used to be spec limit every single hunt. Bill DuPont offered Jim Bel $250k to lease it for a year back when only members of Lacassane Company and guests were allowed to hunt the land there.

I hunted the "Fish Pond" quite a bit back in the 90's last day of the 1999 season we stayed to watch close to 5,000 mallards bodied in the middle of the 3 blinds swirl just out of range of the blinds. We had already limited out by dawn. Shot a lot of specs there too.
