Farming is gonna be a hell of a monopoly in a few years. It's definitely not geared toward the back 40 farmer anymore.

the good thing about hay is that the price isn't regulated my the mills, such as sugar, corn etc.

Good luck and welcome to farming

it's funny how farmers have next to no control over what they sell their product for. one of the few cases. and the one thing humans need most of all

this but i'm gonna try like hell to make it work. if we can just take over the old mans farm that'll work out great considering we get all of his costumers

Yea hay is much easier to deal with. Had a frickload of money in it last year if you were willing to go to texas with it. It also doesn't require a stupid amount of equipment.

One big tractor, one small tractor, a rake, fluffer, baler, and seed drill. That's bout it

Of course, you also have to maintain the land, which requires some other shite, but not a whole lot.

Its only a game for the big boys for the most part nowadays. Cattle is our thing but would love to be able to get into some farming, soybeans and some cotton would be nice.

I farm for a living and we run John Deere and Case IH. Our cotton pickers and sprayers and a few tractors are John Deere and We run a few Case IH Tractors and Case IH Combines. The John Deere Tractors with IVT transmission are pretty sweet.
