With an aftermarket rig like Alpine? Looks like my radio is shitting the bed. Web search says they’re $600-$1000 for a replacement. Wondering if I should just get something else from Crutchfield or a car audio shop?

Crutchfield is going to be able to tell you exactly what you need. They really do have good reps. That being said, you'll likely lose steering wheel controls and such with an aftermarket.

I thought mine was radio was going bad & was getting ready to pull off both A pillars and the front dash cover to get access to the two ground lugs. Turns out rodents had been chewing on the harness tucked way back in the fender near the antenna. Bastards did about $2200 worth of damage, but the radio is working normally now. 2015 Silverado

This is correct. I just used them for new head unit in my Jeep. They make it super easy and tell you everything you need for it to install. If you want to install yourself you can call them and they will trouble shoot with you as well.

You can also have them attach the head unit wiring harness to your vehicle wiring harness that you purchase from them for I think $25. I did that this time and it was really well done.
