Anybody know anything about ducks? A duck laid an egg in my backyard garden.

I happened to spot a duck sitting between some plants in my backyard garden, in what looked like a dug-out area which I figured was a nest.
The duck flew away yesterday a few hours after I noticed she was there, and I haven’t seen it since.
I went over near the nest and I could see an egg in there with some mulch and leaves slightly covering it.
Did the duck abandon this nest with an egg in it or will it probably be back?

I think ducks lay an egg a day, till they have a full clutch, then she will start sitting on them. If there is only one egg, she might have just started laying

1 a day. Will usually lay 9 to 12 eggs. The eggs will be dormant until she starts sitting. This makes all eggs hatch at the same time. Depending on breed, usually 28 days incubation.

She laid an egg yesterday and I just went outside and I still only see one egg and no sign of the duck.
Maybe she forgot my address.

Nip this in the bud and eliminate the egg, nest and duck. Especially if it's a Muscovy

To bad you cannot be eliminated...
