All velvet in Georgia fell off middle August this year. Seemed early?

We’ve gotten after them pretty good. I’ve only seen 1 picture in GON of a velvet buck taken. Good luck baws.

You asking about the MS velvet season? We didn't hunt it, too busy trying to get the lease ready for the normal seasons and not much desire to shoot a velvet buck.

I saw a decent Eight and Ten Point, both with their velvet hanging off and horns bloody. Started to shoot but decided it wasn't worth tracking through the hills of Mississippi in 95 degree temps.

Two for me in Wilkinson County. They just both happened to show up yesterday afternoon, after I got home obviously, in the plot I sat most of the weekend and sweated my nuts off. They must have had me on camera walking in.

Yeah. Not a shot any of us were going to sit out there in the heat this past weekend.

I hung my first bow set Saturday on my new property. I was soaking wet after the 20 minutes of slow moving work to get the sticks on the tree and the stand hung.

I sat about 5 minutes enjoying the view, but thought, no way I’m hunting in this heat!

Props to the men who did!

Some of mine still have velvet while the others have shed over the last 7 days

I'm not saying it wasn't hot, but honestly it was bearable. The walk in was somewhat rough, but in the stand in the afternoons in a good shade was very bearable. Mornings were decent too.

Because I needed a break from phone service and my wife & kids. Also had a massive 10 point on camera the week before I was waiting for.

Son went to the camp in Woodville.Saw a couple of doe's a spike and 3 pt...Hands were eaten up from the knats and now he has broken out from poison ivy...May want to rethink this next season.
