Looking to extend concrete as well as put an awning over it, so when people are over they don't have to stand under the carport. Any tips or advice would be appreciated, as well as any do's or dont's for material and design.
Thanks!

Material and design will depend on your roof design, aluminum will probably be cheapest.

Yes, you can anchor the post to the concrete and it will work fine, no need to concrete the post in the ground.

I just had mine done. I used Central Patio Inc. He did a great job but he doesn't do concrete. You'll have to get somebody else for that or do it yourself. They are still pouring slabs in my neighborhood so the concrete guy gave me a good price.

10-4. As far as the patio company were they pretty fair price wise?

If going the aluminum route, the insulated covers come out pretty nice.

Yes. I got quotes of 7-8 k for the concrete and cover. (I put a footing and rebar for a future bricked in kitchen). I got it all done for 5.

It covered 300 SF in an 'L' shape for $3,250. He uses bigger columns and Beams than the others. None of his caved in with the weight of the snow, but he got a lot of calls to fix the ones that did. It's the insulated snap-n-lock so it's a flat bottom underneath.
